Term 4 - Week 8

Renēe was awarded our 'Star of the Week' for behaviour that always displays the Birchwood School value of respect.  Renēe listens carefully to others, is always ready with a helping hand, and is quick to offer encouragement to her classmates.

We were awarded the 'we care award' for having a very tidy classroom, keep it up team!

A reminder that tomorrow (Friday 2nd December) is a mufti day (gold coin donation) to help support Kaikoura.

The Jellyfish reading group did a great job of entertaining us with a play.

We went to the Suter to learn about some of the art and have a look at the new changes.

Their faces say it all...some of the early crossings to N.Z were in less than ideal conditions.

Remote controls used by cavemen...they only had a couple of channels to choose from though.

Term 4 - Week 7

Thanks to all the parents who have offered to help with driving us to the Suter on Monday, we have enough cars now. A note is going home today (Thursday) accepting your help.  We will leave school at 9:05, our session starts at 9:20 and goes for 75 minutes.  The best place to park is beside Riverside Pool, then we will just cut through the walkway to the Suter.  We will gather on the courtyard area outside.  If wet we will wait in the lobby.

Chantelle received our 'Star of the Week' for her effort and improvement in maths.  She has worked really hard on her maths skills this year and can often think of more than one way to solve tricky problems.  Well done Chantelle!

We have another earthquake practise, just in case.

Term 4 - Week 5

A reminder that Monday 14 November is the last day to get orders in for the calendar art.

Jack was awarded the Physically Active Learner Award.
Jack is always keen to get outside and run around, the amount of plasters he has gone through this year shows how energetically he throws himself into any sport or game. Awesome stuff Jack!

Mrs Pearson decided it was time for another art session.

We continue our training for school athletics,
it was a rainy day so into the hall we went to have a go at high jump.
