Cade was awarded our 'Star Student' award for his positive attitude during our middle school bush walk and for giving 100% during any sport or game outside.  Cade combines his competitiveness with fair-play.  Keep it up Cade!

 We had our school disco...YEEEEHAAAAAA!

We head into nature and enjoy the middle school bush walk.
It was a lovely warm day and the view was STUNNING!!!
Thanks SO much to all the parent helpers, we couldn't have had this wonderful trip without you!

Some of the students found fossils on the walk!

Term 2 - Week 9

Sophia was awarded our 'Star Student' award for the wonderful attitude that she brings into our room each day and for showing respect to others.  Well done Sophia!
We had a VERY busy week.
Everyone got stuck into their technology projects to get ready for
our Games Gala in the last week of school (Wednesday, Week 11).

We celebrated Matariki by creating kites...followed by some very calm weather which saw students sprinting around on cold mornings trying to get them to fly.

Term 2 - Week 8

Ella-Rose was awarded our 'Star Student' award for the effort she has put into her work, especially in maths, and for having a positive attitude, keep it up Ella-Rose!

I would like to thank all the wonderful Kapa Haka members (and parents) who did such an amazing job of cleaning my car at your carwash on Sunday....it looks sparkly new now!  All I had to do was watch and eat my yummy cheese rolls! If you missed out on having your car washed by these keen beans then they are doing it all again on Sunday the 21st....so please get down there and show your support.
Mr Pearson.

Mr Pearson had some testing to do so Mrs Pearson took the class....
and when Mrs Pearson is in the room that means it's Art O'Clock!
We looked at pictures of Māori pounamu designs and bone carvings and used salt dough to make our own.  Soon they will be hard enough to wear!

A straw was used to make a hole so that when it dries some string can be threaded through.

A reminder that the Kapahaka car wash fundraiser is THIS Sunday (14th June) and Next Sunday (21st).  They are starting both days at 12pm through until 3pm at the Tyre General on Tahunanui Drive.

They would really appreciate it if each Kapahaka student was able to attend the car wash - even if only for an hour.  If you have a sponge, bucket or other car wash gear please bring it along on the day.

They will be making rolls on Friday morning (from 9am) at school for the soup fundraiser part.  Please feel free to help out with this (meeting in the hall kitchen).

Term 2 - Week 7

Evonne was awarded our 'Star of the Week' award because of the way she shows respect to her classmates and because of how quickly and independently she gets herself organised for each lesson.  Well Done Evonne!
Our class was awarded the 'We Care Award' for looking after our classroom.
Keep up the great work team!

Here's a video of our finished stick projects.
Well done on all your hard work and creativity tī kōuka!

We begin to add the black paint to our 'Starry Night' pictures.
Time to see if we have chosen the right colours, they should show through the paint.
