Room 7's Waka
In art we made paddles. We drew Maori koru patterns used bright colours on our paddles. Jasmine.
We have been learning about how to work together. We help our classmates out when they need help and we play with our classmates if they are alone. Milla
We sit quietly on the mat and listen so that we can learn and so that our classmates can learn. Rhiannon
We are learning to help each other and to work together. Ella
Our paddles represent each student in our class and we are all in this (waka) together. We all paddle ( work) together to learn. Aislinn.
together we learn.together we grow.together we paddle.

Descriptive Writing: Noah Dreary.
In Room 7 we have been doing descriptive writing about some book characters.
- INTRODUCTION: we had to have an introduction, introducing who are character is.
- DETAILS: We had to add details about the character. what they look like, what they do, How they act.
- CONCLUSION: And finally we had to have a conclusion where we wrote a statement about how we felt about the character.
We also have been learning about Power of three. Which is to write three adjectives before the thing and to use similes in our writing to add detail. Here are some examples:
Noah By Lucy Dodson
Noah complained about EVERYTHING. One fine sunny day his head fell off!!!! His head was as round as a basketball flying through the air. He was as lazy as a golden brown lizard. His clothes were as silky and soft as a polar bears fur. He was only fourteen! Such a young age for his head to fall off. His crazy tall funny looking Mum rushed him to the white, tall, funny looking hospital. But they couldn’t do anything to help him. He just had to live with it! He was as stinky as a gray old angry goat. He sounded like a bull snorting, he smelled like a cranky cow rolling in a wet paddock. His skin was wrinkled into millions of pieces. I feel sad that his head fell off, but he did complain a lot, and I mean A LOT!
