Term 1 - Week 8

Saskia was awarded The Principal's Challenge award for being a responsible learner.
Saskia takes responsibility for her actions and for her learning.
She can always be trusted to work hard to achieve her learning goals...well done and keep it up Saskia!

 We had basketball coaching,
a few sweet shots made it through the hoop!

We practised talking about our learning for our 3-way conferences.

We had our old-fashioned games afternoon.
We played pick-up sticks, quoits, knucklebones, snakes and ladders, and marbles.

Term 1 - Week 7

Amelia was awarded our Star of the Week award this week for her persistence and resilience.
Amelia keeps trying even when things get tricky and 'bounces back' if things don't quite go to plan.
Good on ya Amelia, keep it up!

More Jump Jam today.
Many of the students were Proud in Purple!

The Siapo designs that we created with
Mrs Pearson are now up on the wall.
Come on in and check them out!
Siapo designs are a Samoan art form that
traditionally uses shapes found in the
Samoan environment such as leaves, flowers, shells and starfish.

Term 1 - Week 6

Leon was awarded the Star Student award this week because he's a motivated learner who is proud of his achievements.  He is quick to begin tasks and stays focused.  Leon works well both on his own and as part of a group.  Fantastic effort Leon....keep it up!

We would like to say a huge THAN YOU to all the families that made playdough for our class to enjoy.  We have enough now for many weeks of fun and creativity!

Term 1 - Week 5

Mia was awarded our Physically Active Learner Award.
Mia took part n the Weetbix Tryathlon, loves Rippa Rugby, does very well in the cross country each year, and our games of 'crocodile, crocodile' and Scatter Ball just wouldn't be the same without her big smile.  Mia combines a competitive spirit with a strong sense of fair-play.  Well Done Mia!

We read The Rainbow Fish stories and they had some great messages about RESPECT for us.

If you are nice to others it actually makes YOU feel great too!

Respect - you have to give it to get it!

We are ALL important

It’s ok to be different

Listen to the advice of others…especially those that have been around a bit longer!

If you behave in ways that show you are friendly and polite then others will want to spend time with you.

Don’t judge people too quickly…if they make a mistake give them a chance to change.

You can show others how you would like them to behave by modelling the good behaviours yourself.

Don’t ‘go along with the crowd’ if what they are doing is making someone feel bad.

Try to understand how others are feeling.

Always treat others the way you would like to be treated!
