Term 3 - Week 7

Cody received our 'Star Student' award this week for his effort, and improvement,  in maths.
Cody is now one of our quickest students at basic facts and can solve Stage 5 problems by using tidy tens.

 A dog on our blog!
Saskia brought her dog 'Maisy' in to visit us.
We have been practising our earthquake drills.
We can calmly and quickly get under our desks and hold on to the desk legs in 5 seconds!

We carried out another forces experiment, this time we used magnets attached to toy cars to test how far away a magnet had to be before it began pulling the car towards it.  Then we tried again with two magnets joined together, then three to see if the pulling force / magnetic field could be increased by adding magnets.  We found that this invisible magnetic field definitely was increased by at least one centimetre (sometimes two or three) each time a magnet was added.

Ze Bong shared his amazing family stories with us.
Some of us had to get up and act out the stories!
Lucia got to join a fierce tribe of women, this story did not end well for the tribe of boys!
